Problem:

Our user is an avid tea and coffee drinker who is troubled by the available options for travel mugs because they all contain silicone O-rings, which retain odor and are difficult to clean. Furthermore, she is bothered by the fact that there are no travel mugs that are completely plastic-free, which makes their end-of-life processing difficult.

Solution:

GumaCup is a stainless steel, double-walled cup with a pressure sealing lid and an ergonomic cork sleeve. The travel cup allows users to safely take drinks on-the-go while being more environmentally friendly than current options on the market. Users simply fill the cup with their desired drink, put on the lid, and go about their everyday routine. The entire lid is taken off every time the user would like to drink from the cup, and the cup is cleaned by hand washing or the dishwasher.

My Roles:

Managed the team virtually through weekly meetings and tracked our overall progress using RAM and Gantt charts

Created all of the 3D CAD models, schematics, and renderings for this project

Wrote the final report with three other teammates to explain our design decisions in detail
